An early goal was enough to give Shifnal three more points on the road, but the home side pushed them all the way. A long ball through the middle from Emem Jones in the 9th minute was turned inside by Tom Hill for TYRONE OFORI, who fired into the bottom corner from the edge of the penalty area, for his fourth goal in the last three games. Shifnal’s keeper Yankuba Colley, on his debut, made a fine save midway through the first half when Kyle Espley was through on goal. Shortly afterwards, Colley made a hash of a free-kick which went straight to Sam Birks, but his poor shot passed harmlessly wide of the unguarded net. 2 minutes before the break, Hill cut in from the right, but his angled drive crashed against the near post.
The hosts made a lively start to the second period, and Esplin curled a shot past the far post on 46 minutes. At the other end, Jack Kelly intercepted a clearance, before shooting wide from 20 yards. Sam Birks came close to an equaliser after 59 minutes with a 25-yard free-kick which was inches too high. A ball in from the left in the 75th minute picked out Birks, who controlled and fired goalwards from the edge of the penalty area, but Colley was equal to it with a good save. A minute before the end of the 90 minutes, Shifnal substitute Keanu Cooper should have made things safe from a fine through ball, but he shot tamely into the keeper’s arms.
